I do my best to send viable dahlia tubers with a growth point (an “eye”). Sometimes they arrive dormant—or even a little ugly—but if they’ve got eyes, they’re ready to grow. Dahlia tubers come in all sorts of quirky shapes and sizes, and the little ones grow plants just as big as the chunky ones—so don’t judge them by their looks. When your package arrives, open it right away to make sure everything looks good. Please inspect your tubers to ensure they look healthy. If there’s an issue, contact me within 7 days of delivery. Until planting time, store tubers in a cool, dry place where they won’t freeze. Some varieties pop up quickly, while others take their sweet time—sometimes 4–6 weeks. Once planted, though, the rest is up to you and Mother Nature. I can’t control rot, drying out, critters, or other garden surprises, so refunds aren’t available for non-growth. Shipping within the continental U.S. begins in March and April, though colder regions may ship in May. I truly love dahlias and want you to have a great experience growing them. I follow American Dahlia Society standards for disease control and work hard to provide healthy, vibrant tubers.
